:...Fellow Kenyans,considering the fact that one of the leadersrunning for presidency includes one RailaAmollo Odinga as running for thepresidency come 2012, let us separate thewheat from the chaff as regards thispresidential candidate, my list includes“Raila failures”, please read on:Raila's leadership has to be questioned.The man has a problem if he is not flipflopping, lying, he is double speaking! Howcome there is always trouble anddisagreement where he is involved .Thatsays something about the man .We can’tblame other leaders its time Luos took ahard look at the kind of leaders they choseto represent them cases in example:1. Original FORD-Raila and his fatherrefusing to support Masinde Muliro2. FORD-Kenya-Raila clashing anddisagreeing with Kijana Wamalwa3. NDP-trouble with NDP Foundereventually kicked out by Raila4. KANU-Raila disagreeing with Moi.5. NARC-Raila disagreeing with Kibaki.6. ODM -Raila disagreeing with Kalonzo7. ODM - Raila disagreeing with Ruto8. ODM -Balala walks out of ODM, a partyhe helped found9. ODM- Ngilu silently abandons the partyand goes silent on issues touching onODM.10. ODM- Riftvalley Mps silently walks outof ODM in disagreement on how theParty was being run.You can't tell us that everyone has aproblem but Raila, that all those politicianswere bad and that Raila has always beenright .what kind of leadership would Railabring to Kenya if he cant agree withanyone .With him its always my way or thehighway, that is not the kind of leader thatKenya needs .In as much as we need astrong leader we need a leader who isable to listen to other leaders and whatthe country is saying .Raila is simply notthat man. As the rest of Africa is doingaway with dictators why should we berushing to create one?Yes the Luo community has beenmarginalized but it has been marginalizedby Raila for his own selfish goals andambitions. There is desperation in Raila'sLuos supporters for a Luo presidency thathas led to the kind of crude and uglytribalism we see on facebookRaila and his sycophants and hecklerscannot campaign on Raila's record offailure and the record happens to be along one.1.Raila as an MP has failed Kibera underhis leadership it has become the largestand worst slum in Africa. Kibera's dirt andsqualor are now an international touristattraction. The only time he ever visits theplace is to politick with the likes of Ngumoand the likes of Otieno Kajwang!2.In Bondo and Luo Nyanza while Railaheld sway as the undisputed king of theLuo poverty multiplied and Nyanzabecame the second poorest province inKenya. This situation has only improvedduring Kibaki's tenure Nyanza isrebounding due to the efforts of Kibakiwhile Raila is Happy politicking everydayand opposing the government even ontrivial issues.3.Raila has meddled with the Luo councilof elders and hand picked and installed adisputed leader to head the council4.Raila record includes failed campaignsfor president,5.A failed coup an attempt to install a Luodictatorship on Kenyans.6.Then Raila is dogged by a corrupt past.Stolen money from Luo thrift, he swindledLuos out of Luo union money and Kisumudevelopment trust funds.7.Raila corruptly obtained a molassesplant by selling out Luos to Moi.8.Raila when he was given the energyministry impoverished Kenyans byswindling billions of shillings with hisNigerian buddies most of which went tothe Nigerians. Raila even failed in hiscorruption ventures and was cheated bythe Nigerians out of the bulk of theskimmed money.9.Of note is the fact that Raila family hasinterests in Petroleum products andbordering on the triton scandal, Railainvolvement is suspect as the only knownphoto of Yagnes Devani was taken withRaila, and again Raila traveling to India tomeet the man despite the corruption andtheft allegations surrounding the suspect,this is as to what happened:Towards the end of 2008, Kenyans wereforced to grapple with an unreliable supplyof fuel and artificial rise in its pricing. Onmore than one occasion, the ManagingDirector of the National Oil Pipeline Mr.George Okungu gave widely televisedinterviews to reassure Kenyans that therewas no fuel shortage or crisis as such inthe country. But between December 28and 29th, December 2008 most fillingstations upcountry had no fuel to supply tothe motorists. Workers returning fromHoliday, particularly those travelling fromWestern Kenya back to the City got brieflystranded in Kisumu and other towns.During the same period, a medium sizedoil firm called Triton Limited, which is runby Kenyan of Asian origin, Mr. YagnesDevani and another trader Mr. PankajSomaia was reported to have allegedlyrendered legally bankrupt, suddenlyappeared in the oil trading scene.The duo, have their roots in the lakesideKenyan City of Kisumu and it is in Chemelilarea within the Nyanza sugar belt, wherethe first few Triton Limited outlets were setup. What was most intriguing is that in-spite of its definite inability to source andservice the largest oil order in the country,Triton Ltd, is alleged to have secured thegovernment tender to purchase nationaloil supplies for a six month quota throughthe alleged intervention of the PrimeMinister Raila Odinga, who is said to havepersonal and family interests in the oilindustry as a major player.: Yagnes Devaniis the brother to the late Harish Devaniwho owned the multimillion complex,Simmers Plaza in a Nairobi suburbs ofWestland’s, but alleged to have committedsuicide a couples of years ago afterswindling those close to former PresidentDaniel Arap Moi billions of shillings intenders scams supplies at the KenyanPorts Authority {KPA}and Kenya Power andLighting Company {KPLC} Yagnes Devani isa well known drug addict, but he wasallowed to do roaring business with theKPA!. Indeed Triton Ltd had no capacity, todeliver on such a huge consignment of oilto the nation, but immediately aftersecuring the government tender set uponsub-contracting the same to its rivalscompanies at a profit without any actualdirect importation,In addition, Triton Ltd, according to thereport was that oil suppliers refused to givein to the Tritons sordid machinations, andthis is what caused the brief artificial fuelshortage in Kenya, which in turn raised thefuel prices even much higher... Tocompound the saga, Afri Global Ltd, a firmbelonging to Raila Odinga elder brother Dr.Oburu Odinga MP who is the FinanceAssistant Minister and which is run by Dr.Odinga’s son a pint sized fellow calledElijah Abonyo Oburu was one of the keybeneficiaries. After this scam Elijah Oburuhad since bought a brand new show roomMercedes Benz limousine 350 valued atcolossal amount of Kshs 24 million whichhe now drives around Kisumu City...Another firm, African Oils Ltd, whichbelongs to the Prime Ministers son FidelCastro Raila Odinga, was also occasionedadequate favor to profiteer from thescandal. And not to be out done was thePrime Minister himself with his companyBakri Ltd, operated by one Mr. Mike Njeruwho joined the lists of compliant firms thatallegedly benefited from the tender poolsharing and in turn sold the same to thehighest bidder!.Raila Odinga’s younger sister Adhiambo isthe managing director of the Petro Plusfirm that has been involved in bulk oil salesin the high seas, a host received fromNigeria thanks to the closeness of thePrime Minister with the former ruler Gen.Olusegun Obasanjo. Libya and SouthernSudan government as donations to financedemocratic pursuits in Kenya. Of note isRaila many visits to Nigeria,So entrenched is the Odinga familyinterests in the oil industry the playersadvise that it is practically impossible to doserious oil business in Kenya withoutroping in a family member. At the centre ofthe scheme, is Pankaj Somaia, a wheeler-dealer in the Moi regime era and allegedwanted in various countries for questioningon an array of criminal activities.In any oil sale scheme of the magnitude,Triton Ltd dabbed in the returns, kick-backs included run into hundreds ofmillion of shillings.It is widely rumored that Devani heavilyfunded 2007 general campaign for ODMteam and that those who benefited byDevani funding were only returning a favorin the form of triton contract to buy fuel.Indeed the grapevine has it that somesenior Ministers in the grand coalitioncabinet drive vehicles donated by Devaniearly this year. It is also an open secretthat two MPs have been on Devani payrollostensibly so that they extend favors fortheir benefactors as and when needed.Mr.Devani himself is said to be holed up insome undisclosed destination abroad, buthe keep in constant touch with the PrimeMinister through one called CollinsOdhiambo [formerly of Citi Bank}, and up tosometime back Triton Ltd, commercialdirector.Mr. Odhiambo was said to be in big panicsince Triton Ltd, went burst and placedunder the official receivers as in the casewith an array of high placed personalitiesin the government.Another employee who took cover onlybefore the take-over of Triton Ltd, is a Mr.Kioko who was in charge of the firmsoperations at the KPA in the Kenyan portcity of Mombasa.Immigration Minister Gerald OtienoKajwang who was also a regular visitor inDevani office together with his personalassistant{PA} was said to be working dayand night to cover up five senioremployees of Asian extractions who wereirregularly employed by Triton Ltd when itwas operating.10.Also of note is Raila's family wasinvolved in maize scandal, as claimed inthe US cables which Wiki leaks claimPrime Minister Raila Odinga attempted tosuspend former Agriculture MinisterWilliam Ruto to divert attention from hisfamily’s involvement in the Sh2 billionmaize scam.Secret cables alleged Raila wanted tocreate confusion when he said he wassuspending Ruto and Education MinisterSam Ongeri. It claims Raila wanted publicdebate to focus on the two, and not hisfamily’s role in the scandal."We have credible reports that membersof Odinga’s family, presumably with hisknowledge and/or involvement, wereinvolved in the maize scandal. Thus, at thetime he made his dramatic February 14statements, Odinga was facing seriouspressures on both the corruption andconstitutional review issues," wroteRanneberger."It seems highly possible that Odingamade the announcement regarding Ongeriand Ruto knowing that it would cause ahuge political and constitutional flap, andthen divert focus on both the corruptionand constitutional review issues.Alternatively, Odinga may havemiscalculated that he could ‘roll’ Kibaki togo along with his actions because Kibakiwould not want to be seen as supportingministers tainted by corruption."On Raila’s leadership, the ambassadorsays there is increasing disillusionment inthe ODM camp, although he says critics’views that he is in a weakened position:"The ODM seems both directionless andless united than before."The cable also revealed Rannebergerconcerns over delays to the constitution-making process, after Raila raisedobjections to contentious issues that hadbeen agreed on in the Naivasha meetings.Raila was opposed to a presidentialsystem of government as agreed upon by aparliamentary select committee, in whichhis party and interests were represented.It says on February 12, soon after theagreement was clinched, the US Embassylearnt that Raila had held a meeting withadvisers on renegotiating provisions on thecontentious issues.When Ranneberger called Raila, heconfirmed this was the case, saying thePSC had exceeded its mandate."How could Odinga walk away from theagreement when Odinga’s top people arein the PSC and participated in themeetings under instructions from Odinga?"the Ambassador asked."Odinga had no response to this, butnevertheless insisted that key provisionsmust be reopened," continues the cable.Ranneberger warned that the differenceswere causing ethnic tension, which couldgive rise to violence.11.Another will be failure, is his selfishstand on Hague! Every one saw him sweatwhen asked in parliament why he is sokeen to condemn the same people whogot him in the position he has, and aviolence he propagated! Reminds me ofthe saying that a drowning man will gasponto anything! Even if it's a straw! Some ofus can see beyond the "Hague" thing andits all about selfish politics! Wake uppeople and smell the coffee!12.Therefore Raila and his desperate Luosycophants can only campaign by trying totear down Kibaki. They spread lies thatKibaki has done nothing. They denyobvious development. They gnash theirteeth and cry over economic developmentclaiming they are not getting their share.13.Then Raila and his Luo sycophants aretrying to create a tsunami of hate in Kenyaagainst Kikuyus and Kalenjin with lies andpropaganda. Hoping that if Kenyans aresplit into tribal cocoons Raila will stand achance of bringing the presidency to Luos.This same agenda was witnessed during2005 referendum and also the hateagainst the Kikuyu community that spreadto 2007 elections and later culminated tothe post elections violence. I can only saythis there are many good and honest Luoswho disagree with Raila's strategy. Hatredwill not propel Raila or Luos to thepresidency. As we will simply get anotherRaila failure.The bad blood and tribalism that Railaplanted and continues to propagate willlive on long after he is defeated. Thistsunami of tribalism is bad for Luos, badfor Kikuyus dad for Kalenjins, dad for theKamba’s and bad for all Kenyans.In general failure is Raila's legacy
